Hosted by the Department of Psychiatry's Division of Social and Transcultural Psychiatry, this Summer Intensive consisted of literature, faculty lectures, and discussions on topics including neurobiological reductionism in psychiatry; neuroethics; cultural neuroscience and neuropolicy; and the models, metaphors and political contexts of mainstream brain research.

2019

Science Advice Workshop, Science & Policy Exchange

Practical training providing graduate students and early career researchers with skills to advise science policy at the provincial, federal, and international levels, particularly during a crisis. Case studies were provided by the International Network for Government Science Advice and covered all three stages of science policy: analysis, public outreach, and advocacy. A report on the workshop's outcomes can be found here.

2018

Artificial Intelligence in Life Sciences Discovery Program,
District 3 Innovation Centre, Concordia University

Participated in entrepreneurship training for students and young professionals across life/health sciences and artificial intelligence. The training consisted of both lectures (including content from Y Combinator) and practical group-work covering the ideation, business model development, and market research stages of a startup. My role was Chief Operating Officer for my group's startup, Seismo, which designed a wristband to alert epileptic patients of oncoming seizures. This program culminated with a pitch to two dozen investors.
